The must have family game for Christmas ..

The fast talking description game that every family needs in their life at Christmas! .... Articulate.

If you don't already own this game then stop everything your doing and pop down to your local supermarket now and pick one up!

Articulate* (RRP £32.99) has been around since it's release in 1992 and is an amazing team game that brings all the family together for a giggle, and to test their describing and guessing skills.

The game is for players aged 12+ and has six topic categories of Object, Nature, Person, Action, World and Random.

Teams are made up of a describer and guessers. The game has 500 cards with 3000 different things, places or people to describe. The describer must use as many different words to help the guesser guess the correct word on the card, without saying the word itself. But that's not all, you also can't say it 'rhymes with' or 'sounds like', making it quite the task and fun game.

Each go the teams have 30 seconds to try and complete as many cards as possible, 30 seconds is timed using the sand timer provided with the game.

We have been playing this as a family of four (including my children aged 7 and 10 years old) making it a little more difficult (so we extended the time to one minute guessing), we definitely need to get the Articulate Kids version (aged 6+)  to make it more easier for them. But I have to admit even I struggled with knowing who some of the people were on the cards! But it adds to the fun of it all, and you can pass on one card each turn.

The board also contains a spinner in the middle of the board which gives teams the opportunity to move themselves forward or the opponents backwards. Or it also gives teams the chance to control the board with the control segment. Ekkkkk. So much fun!

I highly recommend this game, it creates amazing family time, a right laugh and helps with your general knowledge.

What the kids say ...

Amber (aged 7 years old): 'I think Articulate is really enjoyable. It is helping my learning and I love that it's a team game. My favourite category to guess is Nature.'

Leo (aged 10 years old): 'Articulate is lots of fun. I love teaming up with my Dad. My favourite category is the World.'

Winter Beauty Essentials

As magical as winter is, sometimes it can make me feel a little low. So I have gathered together some of my beauty essentials to keep me going through the cold and miserable days!

The new Boots sheet masks are incredible (£2 each), I'm a mask addict anyways but these are super amazing. They come in five different varieties and all do different things for the skin.

Charcoal & willow bark- cleanses and purifies
Super hyaluronic - moisturises and nourishes
Lotus flower & tiger lily - radiance and brightening
Safflower & peony - skin feeling and looking younger
Rooibos - energising and revitalising

My hair being curly and frizzy can get dry with too much of the wrong products being used. This Batiste stylist hydrate me oil mist* is amazing to give back some hydration to my hair without being too heavy. It's infused with inca inch and abyssinian oil which help to smooth the hair as well as helping to reduce breakage by up to 50%. Much needed for my hair. Available at (£4.49).

My new hairdryer is incredible at helping with this also. This is the Lee Stafford coco loco blow & go nuts dryer*, which is 2400w DC.

It has two speed and three heat settings but best of all the front grill is infused with coconut oil.

Coconut oil is a fab natural nutrient that helps to provide essential proteins to helping with nourishing and repairing the hair. Giving my hair a much needed boost this winter.

It's super light making it easy to use, all the settings are dead straight forward and it has a removable rear grill for extra simple cleaning. So impressed!

Available here at Argos (RRP £29.99) but currently on a save! So be quick.

Just because its winter doesn't mean we have to be looking pale, the NKD SKN range* has some lovely products to help us keep feeling human.

Pre-shower tan £13.95
Gradual glow daily tan moisturiser £10.00
Tinted tan mousse £14.95
Luxe tanning mitt £4.00

And lastly my must have beauty essential is always the seasons must have nail shades.

Benecos kindly sent me two perfect shades for winter with these berry (desire) and red (vintage red) shades (£6.95 each).

Benecos is a natural and organic beauty brand that do vegan polishes (never tested on animals). They are gentle on the skin and the environment.

December's Flamingo Candles: #TheMeltCrowd b

It's #TheMeltCrowd time again with Flamingo Candles, and this is my December box.

The box as always smelt incredible before I even opened it (always a good sign),  and is full of festive scents that are just perfect ...

December's #TheMeltCrowd scents:

Mulled Wine & Berries
White Lilac & Rhubarb
Chocolate Orange
Cinnamon Buns
Gingerbread (my favourite)
Christmas Tree Gin
Sherry Trifle
Bah Humbug

And we even received a cute pink christmas tree decoration (so cute) ...

#TheMeltCrowd subscription box is £10.00 a month (including p&p) and is delivered through the letter box, if you want to sign up then just click here.

I visited the Clothes Show last week which was lovely and Flamingo Candles had an incredible stand there called The Wax Bar. Their stand was proving popular and had a little crowd of people picking which scents they wanted in their boxes. The show deal was pick any 8 scent wax bars and your burner for £10.00.

So I picked up a few of my favourite's*! My number one fragrance's at the moment are Rhubarb & Pear (which other's seemed to love also as that scent had all run out at The Wax Bar), and Violet & Lime. This is a lovely alternative to the usual wax shapes that Flamingo Candles usually stock and I was so pleased to see the stand doing so well.

Have you tried out Flamingo Candles yet? Let me know your favourite scents in the comments below.

Beauty Gift Guide Part One

Christmas is a very exciting time of year and for us beauty lovers there are so many fabulous presents we would love to receive and give. So if you still have christmas shopping to do or you want to add items to your own wishlist then here are some fabulous ideas for you ...

I couldn't do a beauty gift guide without including my absolute favourite makeup brush company Spectrum Collections. Ever since I discovered them at the start of the year I have been obsessed and changed over all my makeup brushes to Spectrum Collections. As you may have seen my Instagram feed as been full of them this year!

This is the Siren brushes* (£89.99) that can be purchased on the, along with all their other amazing brush collections and accessories.

I was so excited when I heard that No7 were bringing out their famous illuminated mirror in rose gold (£19.99) and couldn't wait to get my hands on one.

Its been released at Boots online and in Boots stores and is proving a popular purchase, just look how beautiful it is ...

It has a double sided mirror with one side being normal and the other with x5 magnification, plus a 360 degree light around the edges. I love the dimmer switch that allows you to pick the exact brightness you require and the swivel head so you can position it at whatever angle. This is an amazing gift and a great price at under £20.

I love that Pixiwoo's Sam & Nic have brought out the amazing FACE book that includes advice, beauty tips and techniques with amazing photography to go with. It's an incredible size and is a must for any beauty fan.

I got mine off The Book People for only £6.99 which was the cheapest I have found it. They do have slightly different versions sold via different stores and websites but this one is the biggest, sell a smaller version also.

Any Star Wars fans? These Star Wars 50ml (Eau De Parfum) artwork gift book sets are a fabulous idea. They are such a stunning product from the outside packaging to the perfectly designed bottles.

I have the Rey and Galaxy versions* (£27.50 each) but they also have other characters and sets.

They are amazing unisex fragrances that are available from Boots & Amazon.

Each bottle is stunning (but really hard to photograph) and is sat inside their amazingly designed book style packagings.

Rey has citrus fruity notes where as the Galaxy version has more woody spicy notes, each one very different but a great representation to that character or theme. Gorgeous products.

I have been using my Wet Brush for a good few weeks now and have found it to be brilliant on my hair. It has Intelliflex bristles that are super thin, strong and flexible making for easy brushing. They can be used on wet or dry hair, and also on extensions and wigs.

They come in many designs as you will see on but I love my Skull version (£12.99).

Sticking with the hair theme, I wanted to share a lovely new release from Lee Stafford.

He has brought out a beautiful Academy Range that includes these gorgeous straighteners* and a hair dryer which are exclusive to John Lewis.

These straighteners (£79.95) have a 23mm Nano Silver Titanium plates that heat up in 10 seconds. They have an auto shut off after 60 minutes (which is important for me as I forget to turn mine off), and a variable heat control from 80C-230C.

And .... I better leave it there for part one of my beauty gift guide but stay tuned as part two and possibly more (as I have so much to show you) will be coming very soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
