Urban Decay X Gwen

A brand that I have always adored for their eyeshadows is Urban Decay, so when newbies come out I'm always intrigued. Urban Decay have recently collaborated with the beautifully stunning Gwen Stefani and create an amazing beauty lovers must have collection. They started with the gorgeous eyeshadow palette* (£40) then went on to release the most perfect blush palette I have ever seen, pretty lipsticks and more.

First impressions of the palette where incredible, as you can see it's absolutely stunning! Beautiful gold main colouring, lovely decorative touch with a UD Gwen Stefani raised name plate. I think it's the perfect size as its not too big like some of the vice palettes, much easier to take out and about with you if you needed to or for travelling.

The outer sleeve shows all the shades as they appear in the palette with their unique names, and inside the sleeve you get some lovely samples of four shades from the stunning lipstick line. My personal favourite from the lipstick range that I have tried so far is Ex-Girlfriend, a really easy to wear nude which is great for everyday wear.

Inside the palette is just as stunning as on the outside plus some. It's really easy to open with it's strong magnetic close and has an amazing mirror covering the top part of the palette, which is really useful for me.

At first glance the three bright shades on the bottom row really stand out and then the rest of the palette is really wearable neutral shades. A couple too many pale shades in my opinion, I think they could have done with switching some of them out for alternative shades but they do all have different finishes so will still get use out of them.

So on to some swatches! These are all swatched once without primer, without flash on my pale skin so you can see the true colouring of the shadow. Starting from the top row down, left to right.

A fab range of mattes, shimmers and glitter shades which can create a whole range of different looks. My personal favourite shades to create my everyday look are Skimp to start all over the lid, Anaheim as the transition colour, Punk the deepen up the crease and Pop in the centre of the lid after lots of blending.  Which are your favourite shades?

A really amazing versatile palette, only thing missing is a brush I would say to make it better for anyone wanting to use it while travelling. I have been loving using this beautiful palette and would love more from the UD Gwen range, especially the blush palette. Do let me know if you have tried any of the rest of the collection and your thoughts on them.

Urban Decay Gwen Palette can be purchased from Urban Decay online or alternatively from Debenhams at £40.

Thanks for stopping by. Karen x JinksyBeauty x
