May Empties

It takes a lot for me to finish a product as I don't just use one product solely until end, normally I will switch and change depending on what I feel like using. So I have decided to set aside a bag to put my empties in each month as I go through them and share with you my thoughts, was it worth buying? did I hate it? etc.

First up is makeup items, I was so sad my NYX radiant finishing powder came to a brutal end, I used this for a long time but when it went it went quick! It started as six pastel shades which mixed together to create a perfect combo to set my foundation. I felt this really helped keep my makeup looking fresh and in place all day, especially my under eye. I would definetely buy this again if I could find any shops in the UK that sell it. I believe this was £9 when I purchased it first time. Another Nyx product was the HD concealor which again I really got on with and it had good creamy coverage, perfect light shade for me in Porcelain. I would buy this again but to be honest the Collection cosmetics concealor is so much easier to get hold of in UK and I prefer the finish so will just keep buying that.

A skincare product I finished was the Boots No7 protect and perfect advanced serum, I really got back into using this everyday underneath my moisturiser after the news coverage which states it is now clinically proven. This silky serum sinks into the skin with ease and with moisturiser over the top goes down to layers of the skin that helps to repair and make the skin look and feel younger. The serum is now proven that the more you use it the better and better results you can see. Google the advert to see proven results.

I love the Treacle moon Apple Pie bath and shower gel, smells divine just like all the treacle moon products. In our bathroom we have a massive line of all the different scents available so it has taken us a while to get a full one used up. I love to use them under the hot tap while running my bath as the scents fill the room adding to the atmosphere. These are available from Tesco and would definitely buy more again as they are lovely for the whole family.

I used up a Batitste mini tropical dry shampoo and large can of the Batiste blush scent dry shampoo, both fine would buy again as I like the scents and ease of dry shampoo. Only issue is it does tend to leave the white cast over my hair which I have to really work away with having darker hair. Any other recommendations let me know in the comments below.

I used up a few little fragrance samples after receiving some in my Birchbox and others in my Fragrance shop my discovery box (separate blogpost on this). My favourite were the two from Birchbox which are on the left in the photo above, the English Laundry and Catherine Malandrino fragrances (Birchbox exclusives.) Both super fresh and fruity, gorgeous scents I would love to have full sized versions of these two which are perfect for this time of the year.

Thanks for reading my empties this month, what have you used up and would recommend to try out?

Make Up For Ever launches in Debenhams UK

Make Up For Ever is something I have always wanted to try and thanks to the release at Debenhams UK I was lucky enough to get to do so thanks to the Debenhams Beauty team. I must admit since doing blogging this was one of my highlights since starting, when the Jiffy bag arrived at my door and I saw that it was Make Up For Ever I did squeal rather loud! Surprised you all didn't hear me!

I received four makeup products inside a makeup bag.
Aqua eyes liner in 0L £14
Smoky Extravagant mascara black £18
Aqua lips liner in 8C £13
Rouge Artist Intense 43:Moulin Rouge £16

The colour ! The Reds! The lip liner is so intense on the lips, super creamy and pigmented. The lipstick  is more of a pinky red compared to the liner. Product testing I did eat my tea straight after applying and taking photos and it did wear away straight away in the middle, so just something to be aware of. The lipstick is heavy weighted which I love as makes it feel much more of a luxury product. I would love to try some more neutral nude shade for the lips. Below are swatches and pics!

The eye range is by far my favourite from what I have tried, the eyeliner is super bendable and easy to apply and the mascara was lovely n quick with volume! I created a fully blended look with the eyeliner and didn't apply any other eyeshadow so this would be an amazing look for anyone with little time to get ready.

Lovely products and can't wait to try more from Make Up For Ever, especially intrigued by their foundations, primers for oily skin and eyeshadows. Have you tried anything from the brand? Let me know in the comments and what your favourite products are? Would love to speak with you.

Glossybox: May!

My Glossybox arrived at the weekend and here are the contents! I was excited to finally see the collab with Collection Cosmetics as I feel like I've been waiting forever since they announced it via Twitter a few months ago. This months box was the plain pink which as you will know if you have read my blog before I do prefer a designed box, but I still love how reusable the Glossybox is compared to Birchbox.

We have our information cards inside as usual with a product card and information about this months box theme and sneak peek. This months theme is Summer's Calling and I was excited to see the sneak peek for next month is Flash Tattoos! (Been wanting to try for a while!) So if you want to sign up for next months box there is a link in my beauty box referral page at the top of this blog.

My sneak peek last month told us we were going to be receiving the Mememe eyeliner pencil in blue, I wasn't that enthralled to be receiving this as I'm not over keen on blue eyeliner. It's double ended with a lighter and darker shaded sides, colour payoff is just ok but the swatch on my hand very quickly smudged away so I wouldn't hold much hope out for my runny eyes. This isn't an item I will be using unfortunately, although it's great to get a full size item and this would normally retail at £6.95. (Maybe I should start doing blog sales with the amount of items I have spare!)

The next makeup item was the Collection Cosmetics Field day collection lipstick in the shade Tulip, a lovely pale coral shade. I do love abit of Collection cosmetics as the brand does my favourite concealor of all time to use the lasting perfection concealor. This lipstick retails at £2.99 in stores like Boots or Superdrug. One thing I will say is make sure your lips are fully exfoliated before use as it is slightly drying on and I felt like you could really see the lines of my lips in my swatch pictures. One thing I hate about blogging is taking pictures of my lips as it shows up everything, hairs, marks, mistakes, the lot.

I also received the Etre Belle Aloe Vera ultra moisturising gel which retails at £15.93. This is great for giving a cooling effect to the skin and is perfect for anyone that has had too much sun, any type of burning from the sun and this will smooth and relieve immensely. This again was another full size product which there were three this month. Well done Glossybox.

The Sass product in my box was a little intriguing as at my work (Boots) we have started stocking this in the pharmacy area of the store and I hadn't really heard too much about it. This is the Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate, which is to be used post-shave or wax. It is suppose to soothe the delicate skin area and reduced the hair regrowth. It contains exfoliating ingredients to help with those dreaded in-growing hairs. Full size version costs £12 from Boots, this sample size is worth £3.60.

Lastly The product I keep smelling over and over is the Zerreau Shampoo foam in the scent of Apple. I love the smell and love the idea of this, it's the new dry shampoo. You apply the foam directly to your scalp, massage it in to get all the dirt and grime away. Then using a hand towel you remove the foam to return to dry, dirt free hair. Perfect for anyone going to festivals or just a quick freshen up. Full size costs £7.95 and also comes in strawberry scent from Festival Shampoo.

Total box value this month is £32.56! What are your thoughts on the items in this months Glossybox.

Body Jewellery Shop Earrings* + new sunglasses

Got some newbies last week, new sunnies and new earrings*. Absolutely in love with my Miss KG (kurtgeiger) and first pair of Pepe Jeans sunglasses, completely sunglasses obsessed at the moment. My Miss KG sunnies were from Boots and were a bargain with my half price sunglasses voucher and staff discount, normally £30 I paid £13.12. Another absolutely amazing bargain were my Pepe Jeans sunnies from TKmaxx at £14.99. So excited for some more sun to wear these!

I also received my first ever EtailPR sample in the form of earrings, a difficult one to take pictures of but are gorgeous little earrings they are perfect for first time ear piercing or everyday wear. They are from Body Jewellery Shop and I got to pick out of a few samples, three that I would like and they sent me two.

I received the most gorgeous little stainless steel star earrings priced at £3.49 and larger jewelled round gem earrings in a clear stone priced at £1.99. They are a body jewellery and fashion accessory store so offer so much more for all types of piercings, coloured contact lenses, stage makeup through to nail polishes etc.

The Stars have to be my favourite they are super easy to wear any day for any occasion and are definitely the perfect first time earrings, not too big at all.

The large gem earrings are a lot more snazzy but again could really be used anytime, super easy to wear and being clear white can be mixed with anything if you have more piercings.
